Why Celebrate?
A Decade of Impact: SDPC, a special interest group of the Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community, has spent 10 years building a collaborative network of schools, districts, state agencies, policy makers, and vendors to address real-world student data privacy challenges. Today, SDPC supports over 34 million students, with 34 state-wide alliances represented.
Driving Privacy Innovation: SDPC is known for developing the National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) and the National Research Data Privacy Agreement (NRDPA), which streamline application contracting and set common expectations for data privacy across the U.S. These agreements have saved schools and vendors countless hours and resources, allowing more focus on learning.
SDPC Resource Registry: The SDPC Resource Registry is a cornerstone, providing a framework for identifying and sharing solutions that have real-world impact on student data privacy. It helps schools, districts, and vendors find and adapt resources to their unique needs.
Community-Driven Success: SDPC’s strength lies in its inclusive community, which brings together end-users and marketplace providers to address day-to-day privacy issues, share effective practices, and leverage partnerships for greater impact.
Saving Districts & Vendors over $65million: The SDPC model Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs) have had a huge impact on the K12 EdTech ecosystem by establishing common expectations and streamlining the DPA execution process for both districts and providers. Since 2016, over 131,000 standard DPAs have been executed and subscribed to. By applying an average legal fee of $250p/hr and minimal negotiation time of 1hr per district/vendor/DPA, these standard DPAs have saved participating districts and vendors over $65million!
