A4L announce Community Leadership for 2026-2027

Washington, DC, 28 May 2026—The Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community is proud to announce the Community Leadership Groups for 2026. The Leadership Groups bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in education, data management, privacy, security, and business acumen. They oversee management of the SIF Specification and the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) as well as contribute to the development of strategies for the global Community, and guiding development of the A4L Community internationally.

Leading The Way: How Six States are Championing Student Data Privacy

In an era where schools depend on digital tools for everything from instruction to administration, the question of how to protect student data has never been more urgent. While federal policies like FERPA and COPPA provide a foundation, they often leave states and districts with more questions than answers. In most of the country, responsibility for data privacy has fallen to local education agencies (LEAs), leaving them to navigate complex issues with limited resources.

The Leadership Group brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in education, data management, privacy, security, and business acumen. The Leadership Group will oversee management of the SIF Specification and the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) as well as contribute to the development of strategies for the global Community, and guiding development of the A4L Community in North America.

The A4L Community has had phenomenal leadership over the past few years. The leadership, guidance and overall dedication to the Consortium prove critical to our collective successes, but now it is your chance to get involved and cast your vote!

Although the A4L Community has gone through a lot of changes over the last year, there is a great deal of positive momentum. We have many new members stepping up to leadership positions, our overall membership continues to grow and the Association Board has adopted new strategic goals, actions and targets that will drive our work for the year to come.

The Management Board brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in education, data management, technology and business acumen. The Board will oversee management of the SIF Specification and guide development of the A4L Community in North America as well as contribute to the development of strategies for the global Community.

Announcement to Membership: North American Elections 2023

The Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community has continued to have phenomenal leadership over the past year. The leadership, guidance and overall dedication to the Community prove critical to our collective successes… it is hard to believe that it is time for elections again! Nominations for the North American Management Board and At-Large Technical Board will be available from March 30 – April 20, 2023 (inclusive).
